Robert Prim Butchart, the one who lend his name to the garden, will be established here with the family for the limestone deposits used for obtaining cement. After a while, when the limestone quarry was finished in 1909, Butchart’s wife turned the place into a garden, presenting it first to friends and then to the people in the city.

Currently, the Butchart Garden is still in the property of the family, the great-granddaughter of founders acting as CEO. Entering the garden, no season of the year is boring. There is always something new to see, to learn and to live and to admire. As spring arrives on Vancouver Island, the nature gets reborn into a spectacle of color with over 100.000 tulips and many snowdrops.

Butchart Garden gained its international fame through the variety of plants that it owns. Each year, here are over a million plants and over 900 varieties of flowers that bloom continuously from March to October. Butchart Garden is visited annually by over a million people, who are mainly attracted by the incredible play of colors of the spring flowers, but also by the entertainment offered every Saturday by the fireworks during autumn or the magical Christmas decorations in the silence of the winter.

The best way of relaxing yourself and forgetting about your worries is to visit a place like this one that will fill you with positive energy and happiness.
